Hey friends, boy, has it been a minute since I wrote a blog post! But, what is time anymore, I guess?
Today I want to tell you about something you might have noticed in the webstore, and that is that some of the rings are on sale, and others are not, and since when do I have stuff on sale anyway?
I decided after years of making the gauge rings that I wanted to make some improvements. There have been little things I have wanted to change in the course of making hundreds of rings, and I have made little tweaks over the years. But I wanted to implement those changes to all the rings, and I decided it is time to retire the current molds, and start over fresh. YIKES! That's 6 styles of rings (3 of each in US sizes and Metric), over approximately 20 standard sizes in stock per ring!
Luckily for me, since I have always largely made the rings to order, that's what I will be doing with the new version, Version 3.0. So, as you order sizes, I make the original model, mold it, and make rings in that size. And of course I work on the other sizes in between orders.
Version 2.0 is now on sale, and I am polishing the remaining castings I have, and as a style sells out, that's it, it's sold out.
Both versions have the exact same functionality, and to be honest, the changes are more apparent to me than to anyone else. But, they make for a better product, and a more consistent casting, which makes my job go more smoothly.
