It has been exciting getting ready for a show again! Sure, it's a virtual show, but it's a brand new one, and one that I think is going to be a better experience for those of us really missing festivals. What makes
Fiberworlddifferent? From my end, I like that I have a virtual booth laid out ready for you to see. And, there will be in person communication via Zoom meetings embedded in the booth space. I will have live meetings at the booth every day of the show (August 19-23, 2020) from 2-3pm EDT (1-2pm CDT), and I might pop in from time to time.
For you, you don't have to just scroll through a list of (amazing) vendors, you can also search for what you are shopping for, and you will get a customized festival map! (You'll need to bring your own corn-dogs though.) Plus, there are classes! Although there is an admission fee to the show, that fee is a credit towards your first class, so if you take a class, admission to the rest of the show is free! And that admission fee is not just for shopping; it gives you access to the featured speakers, and different chat rooms.
Fiberworld feels like a fiber show made by fiber show folks (who also happen to be game designers, so they have the tech savvy), because it is. I hope you will take a look, and see what you think. I would love to see you there! If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.
