First donation sent to Ukraine, and a MDSW recap.

Hey everyone, I just got back from MDSW, and have a few updates for you.

I am thrilled by the responses I have gotten to the This Machine Kills Fascists necklace! I've been wearing it everywhere, and it definitely gets noticed. And, thanks to everyone who has bought a necklace so far, I was just able to send $426.60 to United24, the Ukrainian Government's charity organization collecting for the war effort.

From the Cooperative Press booth at MDSW, I was able to see 3 fellow YarnCon friendors (our favorite portmanteau of friend and vendor) wearing these necklaces, and it made me feel so supported and maybe even hopeful.

I am looking into the next charity, and it will be relating to immigration. Please stay tuned.

Of course, I can't go to a sheep and wool festival, and not share some of the cuties that provide us with wool, now can I?

If you follow fiber show news, you probably heard about the scary storm that hit the festival on Saturday. It came and went rather quickly, but it left some real damage in its wake. Water was flowing through barns and booths, the hail hit the roofs so hard that a lot of folks were crouched with their hands over their ears, and a number of vendors ended up with damaged and broken merchandise. On the bright side, during and after the storm, vendors and show staff and volunteers jumped into action to help affected vendors. Afterwards, people rallied to their sides, and made sure to buy what they could from them the next day. Myself included- buying that is. Shannon and I are very fortunate that we now have our booth inside the main exhibition hall as of last year.

It's a good community, and I am glad to be reminded of that.

Speaking of community, I still owe all of you a YarnCon re-cap! Next time, honest.
