Actually taking a break, for real this time (and a show coupon!)

Hey Friends,

I am going to be taking next week (July 7-14) off, so off that I will be without internet access most of the time. So unlike my usual "vacations," in which I still answer emails while camping in the woods, this time I will actually be unavailable. Not stressful, not at all. (Eep!)

I would like to thank all of you who stuck around, and I want to welcome the new folks following along. As you might know, I don't often talk about politics around here, but at the same time, I wear my heart on my sleeve. I try to strike a balance. Last week, when Ravelry made their statement about not allowing support of Trump on their site, I posted my support on Instragram, and there was the expected fallout. I was a little down about so many people leaving, but we all have to decide what is right for us. I cheered up a lot when 5 times as many people who left joined my IG following!

I looked at my numbers, to see how much money I am sending to RAICES. I am feeling a lot of love right now! I lost 20 people, and then it became hard to keep track, the number of followers kept going up and down. I just looked, and now I have a couple more following than I started with!! Thank you so much to all of you who stayed, and welcome to those who have just joined me. I am so glad you are here. I am a one woman business, and no lie, the $420 I am about to send to RAICES is a big chunk of change for me, but I am so glad I can do it. I promised to send $20 for each person who left because they did not agree with me in my support for @hi.ravelry and $20 for each sale. For those who wanted to match my donation, if this number is too high, go with some multiple of 21. In other news, I have been doing my best to get ready for Stitches Midwest! As many of you know, one of my dear cats died a couple of weeks ago, after being sick for over a month. I won't lie, that really set me back, and I am trying to catch up and get lots of goodies made in time for Stitches. Hey, I have a coupon for you! I hope to see you there!
