Hi Friends,

I usually don't say too much about charitable giving around here, but this time I am coming to you for help, and I want to reward you for your good deeds.

An elder in our fiber arts community here in Chicago is in pretty dire need. Judy has been a fixture at YarnCon over the years, and I would see her at Sifu Design Studio on Friday nights when she would come by to hang out and pick up her daughter, who is a talented dyer and knitter. Judy is 78, and has never been able to retire since she cares for her adult daughter, who is unable to work. She recently broke her hip, and cannot work right now. She is in danger of losing their condo because she can't keep up with the assessments until she can get back to work.

I can only help so much alone, but together, we can help her get through this rough time. I want to encourage everyone to give anything they can, and I want to make it a bit of fun. I am going to give a sterling silver gauge ring to one donor at random. I will assign each donor a number in order, and then use a random number generator to choose the winner. The winner can choose any style of gauge ring in silver. I will accept entries until May 14. On the 15th I will announce the winner here and on Facebook.

Please donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/Help-Eldery-Artist-Save-Her-Home

Once you do, you can email me that you did at natalia@malojos.com, or PM me on Facebook since I have announced this there as well. If you already gave, and want to be included, please go ahead and email me, and share the link to the gofundme fundraiser. Let's help Judy keep her home.

I have donated & wish I could do more. I will share in hopes we can save Judy & Kim’s home.
